Chapter 13
The next morning, I woke up in Freak’s arms. It was a good feeling. His arm was still draped across me when I opened my eyes. The sun peered through the windows and all that shit, and I smiled.
I made my way out of bed before he woke up. After the mundane morning ritual, I walked into the kitchen.
Abbi sat at the kitchen counter, eating.
“Hey, when did you get here?” I asked.
“Just a little bit ago. Is that Freak’s bike outside?” she asked.
“Yeah, he stayed the night last night.” I made my way to the fridge and Abbi gasped.
“Are you fucking kidding me? Chels, I told you to stay away from him.”
“Abbi, it’s complicated. I like him.” There I admitted it, happy?
“What?” Abbi gasped, again.
“I do. It’s hard to explain but I really like him.”
“You need to knock that shit off. He’s no good for you.”
“Why do you say that?” I asked as we glared at each other.
“Well, look at him. He’s a mechanic and he’s just weird.”
“Just a mechanic huh? Daddy and Uncle Al were both mechanics,” I screamed. Shit, I hope Freak didn’t hear us.
“What kind of name is Freak anyways?” she asked.
“It’s the kind of name your parents give you when they hate you. Can’t stand anything about you,” Freak said as he came around the corner to the kitchen.
Fuck.
Abbi’s eyes grew wide, and she shot them to the floor.
“Freak, I’m sorry,” I said.
Abbi shot her head back up and turned to face Freak. “No, I’m sorry. It’s just you and my little sister, I don’t like it.”
“No, I get it. I didn’t mean for anything to start up, or for any of this to happen. Chelsea, I’m sorry but I have things I’m trying to do, and maybe what we are doing might get in the way,” Freak said as he headed for the door.
“Wait, Freak.” I shot an evil death glare to my sister, and then followed Freak out of the kitchen towards the front door.
He carried the blue teddy bear with him as he opened the front door. “Bye Chelsea, it’s better this way. Can I keep the bear? There’s someone special I want to give it to.”
He was standing outside on the porch and I had the door gripped in my hand. My emotions were all over the place, some left in the bedroom where Freak fucked me, some on the porch where we kissed. Everywhere.
“Keep the teddy bear, I don’t care. You can give it to your ex-girlfriend whore Jessie,” I hollered as I slammed the door.
I slammed my back against the door and sucked in a breath. It took a few minutes before I heard Freak’s motorcycle roar to life and head down the road.
I stomped back into the kitchen.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I screamed.
Abbi was shocked and held her head high. “I just saved you from the heartache you would have experienced later down the road.”
“What? Every thing was fine. Why did you have to open your big mouth?”
“Chels, please.
